I'm starting a new personal project that I hope to pitch to the paper down the road, hopefully I can have a visual hook of a community gathering and local icon that people in its community know. The shop is called Hair Factory and has been open for around thrifty years now run by a guy that everyone seems to know, Stone.
Once just a side activity, Karaoke has become the main attraction in some night clubs and bars where loyalist youngsters are reeled in by costumes, themes and a more night club feel. This is Dave's new once a month Karaoke night at The Summit here in Columbus, Ohio. A look at why people love to be front and center.
This is Rabbi Zui Kahn, headmaster of Columbus Torah Academy, and his family shopping for costumes for the Jewish holiday Purim where people dress up, feast and get down. Its pronounced Pour-em. Big thanks to the Kahn family for being such great sports.
Today was Ash Wednesday which I understand is the beginning of Lent. I was assigned to shadow a veteran photographer at The Dispatch while we rode along with Sister Popovits to the homes of people who were unable to attend church that morning because of personal circumstances. Now i am not a religious person by much means, but not getting into my religious beliefs, I found this story very inspiring and spiritual.
Here is the house that i am staying in with my faithful Datsun Amy parked in front. Datsuns are AWESOME, she started right up no problem. For The Columbus Dispatch
My first day at the Columbus Dispatch was what the locals call White Death, not even 15 min into my internship did it start to snow and snow and snow...... 10 inches of snow in one day actually. So what was my first assignment of course but to go and take pictures of....SNOW!
